Taught by a state certified instructor, this course allows participants under the age of 18 to earn the state required certification needed to operate a motorboat or personal watercraft on any Illinois waterway. The certification card serves as a drivers license and must be in the operators possession at all times while operating a boat or personal watercraft. Any boaters regardless of age are also welcome if they would like a “rules of the water” refresher. Ages 12 and up.

FLAG is a group of organizations working together to coordinate efforts and streamline the procedures necessary to protect victims from financial exploitation.
Financial exploitation occurs when an offender takes money from an elderly person, a person with disabilities or their bank account by fraudulent means. This crime occurs either without the person’s approval, or may occur even with the person’s approval if they are unaware of the fraud being committed. Victims may be afraid for their safety, intimidated or embarrassed to tell someone.
The Crystal Lake Park District Police conducts seminars designed to educate the public on the financial exploitation of the elderly or persons with disabilities. For information on the FLAG program and scheduled seminars, call Chief Ron Lyons at (815)459-0680.
