Dear Dance Parents:
Welcome to the Crystal Lake Park District dance program! The winter dance recital will be held at Husmann Elementary School, 131 Paddock Street in Crystal Lake, on Saturday, January 16, 2010. The costumes have been ordered, and the dancers are practicing their routines. The classes have been split into two recitals (2:00 PM and 5:00 PM). Each dancer will be in the show, performing in their assigned dances and the recital finale. Please remember that dancers must provide their own white tights, unless told differently by their instructor.
Rehearsal Information:
The dress rehearsal will be on Saturday, January 16, 2010. Performers need to arrive 15 minutes early, check in upon arrival, and be dressed in their costume and ready to perform. Parents are asked to wait in the theater for their child.
Recital Information:
The dance recital will be on Saturday, January 16, 2010. Performers need to arrive 15 minutes early, check in upon arrival, and be dressed in their costume ready to perform. Parents will not be allowed to stay in the dressing room during the recital. Students will remain in the dressing area until the finale is complete.
Picture Information:
Professional pictures will be taken during rehearsal only. If you are purchasing photos, picture forms and checks need to be returned to your instructor by January 2, 2010. No picture forms will be accepted after this date! Parents are asked to allow the photographers the courtesy of no distractions by staying outside of the designated photography room. A Park District staff member will be posted at the photography area to enforce this policy as it has been an issue at past recitals. Pictures and videotaping by parents will be allowed on both days in the theater only.
Ticket Information:
Each dancer will receive two complimentary tickets which will be handed out at dress rehearsal. Additional tickets may be purchased at the rehearsal and before each recital. The cost is $4.00 per ticket. Seating will be on a first come, first serve basis. No seats will be reserved. Children ages four years and older must purchase a ticket. Younger children are permitted to sit on laps. Seating will begin one-half hour before show time and not before then. The theater will be completely vacated between recitals to allow fair seating to all patrons. You may not leave anything in the theater between performances; it will be removed and left at the ticket table for pick up.
Reminders:
Please mark your dancer’s name on all of their costume parts, and shoes.
Bring a coloring book to keep your child occupied while they are waiting.
No food or gum is allowed.
Note: Some parents give their dancer flowers in the dressing room after the recital.
