Barlina House Preschool Monthly Letter

Dear Parents:

Please be aware of your position in traffic as you arrive and depart Barlina House.  If you arrive and the driveway is full, please do not block the street waiting to turn left.  Winter dismissal can take a little longer, particularly for the morning classes.  With the donning of snow clothes, car seat straps are tighter and some coats are even being removed as children enter their vehicles, so feel free to arrive a bit later at pick-up time when possible.

We have been retaining samples of your child’s work in order to create a portfolio for each child.  If you are interested in reviewing it during your next visit to the classroom, just let the teachers know.  Otherwise the portfolios will be sent home during the last week of school—with a lot of memories (and progress) to talk about! 

You are welcome to send in Valentine cards and/or a small bag of treats on Monday, February 13, and Tuesday, February 14.   Please encourage your child to sign them by themselves.  If they write a few each day, it won’t be too difficult—and good practice!   

As you know, it is time to register your child for next preschool year or kindergarten.  There have been inquiries about the summer program here at Barlina House called Rambling Tot camp.  It is a morning program that runs for seven weeks of the summer.   Registration has already opened for camp programs.  More information is available on page 27 of the current brochure or at www.crystallakeparks.org.
