The Teen Center

Want to be part of the fun? Park Place Teen Center is where its at!
Teen Scene members and non-members are welcome. Park Place is a recreational area with an air hockey table, video games, ping pong table, concession stand, crafts, the newest released DVD’s, big screen T.V. with cable, and a big kitchen where kids can make the best tasting desserts! Check out the monthly calendar of events at the Teen Center at the beginning of each month. Calendars are available at the Teen Center, right here, onlineor at the Park District Administrative Office.

Teen Center FAQ's

Q: Can I walk/ride my bike to the Teen Center?
A: Yes– we only ask that teens be responsible for signing themselves in and out of the Teen Center.

Q: Is a school ID card required to get into the Teen Center?
A: No, there is a book of members names to check to see if the teen is a member.

Q: Where are the drop off/pick up points for trips?
A: Drop off/Pick up points for trips are always at the Teen Center at Park Place,
406 W. Woodstock St., unless otherwise specified

Q: Is registration available the day of the trips?
A: Yes, but you should register early enough to make sure that you get a spot and to help us to plan for appropriate staffing arrangements.

Q: How do you choose trips and places to go?
A: The Teen Center Coordinator is always looking for trips that interest the kids. She is open to your suggestions. Feel free to email or give Connie a call at (815) 459-0680 ext. 213

Q: Are the kids supervised at the Teen Center and on the trips?
A: Yes, the Teen Center has 2 supervisors on duty from 2:00-6:00 pm each afternoon that it is open. On trips, there are typically 1-2 Recreation Supervisor on each trip depending on the total # registered.

Q: Can I register at any time for the Teen Center?
A: Yes, and membership lasts 1 year from your sign-up date.
