Health and Fitness Programs
The Crystal Lake Park District offers a variety of health and fitness programs for individuals of all ages. Program offerings include health seminars and group fitness classes. Disciplines include Yoga, Zumba, Kettlebells, Bodytoning, Body Power, Booty Barre Blast, Cardio Ballroom Fitness, KamFit Bootcamp and fitness classes geared just for seniors. Sign-up for classes based on your interest and schedule, there is not a monthly membership fee. Also, for flexibility in scheduling your fitness time, try our 10 Session Punch Pass option (Select from Mat Pilates, Regular Zumba, Zumba Gold, Fun with Kettlebells, Turbokick, Bodytoning and Body Power).

Meet the Crystal Lake Park District Fitness Instructors
AFAA Certified Group Fitness Instructor
My journey to becoming a fitness instructor unknowingly began at four years of age taking dance lessons in Hawaiian Hula, Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Adagio, Point, Acrobatics, and Ballroom and Latin dance styles. Over the years I have garnered the USA Pro-Am Championships in International Standard and Latin and American Smooth with my professional partner and also Elite Dancesport Champions in American Smooth with my husband. After retiring from dancesport competition, I’ve shared my love of dance by teaching ballroom and Latin dancing, organizing the Chicago DanceSport Challenge a National Qualifying Event for the USA Dance Championships, and began teaching, Cardio Ballroom, a fitness program I created for the DTPD.
In 2013, I became certified as a Primary Group Fitness Instructor through the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America. Currently I am teaching fitness to seniors, adults, and children in several different types of cardio, strength, and weight lifting programs at three different park districts and dance studios in the area.

Donna has been teaching fitnes classes since the early days of aerobic dance, where she enjoyed many years of creating dance choreograpy for high energy classes. Donna has also lead step classes, helping people of all fitness levels get a challenging workout. Most recently, she thrives on encouraging people to change their bodies through endurance weight lifting. Over the years, Donna has been IDEA, ACE, Les Mills and Body Training System certified.
A long time resident of Crystal Lake, and a person who regularly hikes Sterne's Woods, Donna really embraces the community and beauty of our town.

Certified Crossfit Kettle Bell Trainer
I started kettle bell workouts in 2010 after injuring my shoulder. I rehabilitated it using ketebells and stretch bands. After so much enjoyment from the workouts and outstanding results, I became interested in training others. In 2011 I was officially certified to be a kettle bell trainer by the "Crossfit" organization through "Tactical Athlete" company. I now train others with a focus in strength and agility.

I'm Elix Strong. I am a Licensed AFAA and AEA. Certified Zumba, Zumba Gold, Step Zumba, Aqua Zumba, Zumba Toning. I love to dance and I love to workout. I also love to help people out. What better way to do all of it by teaching Zumba. When in doubt dance it out.
