2024 Public Beach Herbicide Treatment - 5.20.24

Time: 7:00 AM

Location: Crystal Lake Main and West Beach Swimming Areas

On Monday morning, May 20, Hey and Associates, Inc. will be conducting the annual beach herbicide treatment at Main Beach and West Beach swimming areas. The swimming areas will be treated with a granular form of a non-selective herbicide to control a broad spectrum of submersed aquatic vegetation and the bottom-growing
algae, Chara.

The manufacturer recommends no swimming for a period of 24 hours after treatment. Do not use lake water from the public beaches (treatment areas) for irrigating plants, as drinking water (human or pet) or for mixing sprays for agricultural or ornamental plants for a period of 7 days from the application date. There are no post-treatment
fishing restrictions listed on the product labels. Treatment signs will be posted along the swimming area access points and can be removed at the end of the next day following the treatment.

Should the weather prevent this treatment from happening on the date listed above, the treatment will occur on the next business day that the weather allows.
