Still Time to Register for Crystal Lake Park District Lifeguard Training Class

The Crystal Lake Park District Lifeguard Training class provides entry-level lifeguard candidates with the skills and knowledge necessary to prevent, recognize and respond to emergencies, and to provide care for injuries and sudden illness until advanced medical personnel arrive. This is a certification course. Students must be able to swim 500 yards continuously demonstrating front crawl and breast stroke. Students must also be able to swim and retrieve a brick from the bottom of the deep end and tread water for two minutes. Students will be certified in standard first aid, CPR/AED, and lifeguarding skills through the American Red Cross. ALL classes must be attended for the entire length of time. Completion of the class does NOT guarantee employment with the Crystal Lake Park District. Open to anyone ages 15 years and up.
