Grand Oaks Active Senior Center Plus Programs & Events for Seniors

Seniors! The Crystal Lake Park District Active Senior Center at Grand Oaks (1401 W. Route 176, Crystal Lake) offers Mon-Fri, Drop-In Activities. Reservations are not required. FREE, residents and non-residents welcome!

Drop In activities will be held Mon-Fri, from 9 am-Noon.

Featured daily drop in activities:

Monday:

Pick Your Play or Mah Jongg (beginning at 9:30 am)

Tuesday:

Dominos

Bingo (2nd week each month, $5)

Wednesday:

Hand & Foot or Samba Canasta (beginning at 9:15 am)

Thursday:

Triple Play

Beanbag Baseball (games begin at 10 am)

Mah Jongg

Craft2Noon

Center is closed on 10/11, 11/25 & 11/26, 12/20-12/31

Special Events

Beanbag Baseball Tourney

Everyone can play Bean Bag Baseball! Names will go into a hat to form teams. Following the tourney, lunch will be provided including hotdogs, chips and a drink.

Holiday Brunch Party

Join us for a lively lunch and holiday entertainment by Jeorge Holmes while overlooking the beautiful view of Crystal Lake. We will be joining the Cary Park District’s Active Adult Group as we gather with old friends and new friends to ring in the holiday season. A catered lunch consisting of London Broil, Oven Roasted Potatoes, vegetables, salad, rolls, dessert, coffee and lemonade.

Discover the fun and enjoyment that watercolor has to offer. All ability levels welcome. A supply list will be emailed at time of registration.

Sit, Stand and Swing

Various fitness styles will be incorporated in this class including Qi Gong, Tai Chi, Pilates, Zumba, bands, weights as well as working on balance, strength and stretching to fun music. Whether you use the chair for the whole class or part of class or can do the class without the chair, you will feel an invigorating workout to keep you moving throughout the week.
