Lakewood Meadows Park NOW OPEN!

Ready....Set......PLAY!!!! Our newest park, Lakewood Meadows is OPEN for play!

The park is 10 acres in size and located at 6904 Haligus Rd, Lakewood, just south of the Village of Lakewood Public Works facility. The Village of Lakewood, IL donated the land to the Crystal Lake Park District for developing the park. The Park District
received funding through the Illinois Department of Natural Resources Open Space Land Acquisition and Development Grant (OSLAD) program for the development of a park on Haligus Road. The state program is financed by the state's Real Estate Transfer Tax.

The Crystal Lake Park District's "Name Your Park" contest winner was Diane Ayers of Lakewood, who submitted the name Lakewood Meadows Park for this new park. The winning name was officially adopted after a public vote and approval by the Park Board of Commissioners in September 2024.

There are still a few finishing touches that await the park but we didn't want to delay opening the gates for a grand opening celebration (look for details on the official grand opening/ribbon cutting in Spring 2026). Visit Lakewood Meadows, 7 days week, Sunrise-Sunset.
