West Bay Area of Crystal Lake Herbicide Treatment Scheduled for May 13
 
On Thursday morning, May 13, 2021, Hey and Associates, Inc. will be conducting herbicide treatments of areas within and adjacent to West Bay, at points around various no-wake buoys on the north side and east end of the lake and at an area near Gates 13 and 15 along the south shore. The treatment areas in West Bay and adjacent to Gates 3, 13 and 15 will include waters approximately 75’ off of the shoreline to approximately 150’ offshore, and areas well offshore near the buoys to the north and east (Public swimming areas are not included in this treatment). The target areas are to be treated with a granular form of a selective aquatic herbicide to control specific, unwanted, submerged, non-native vegetation.
 
Water use restrictions are as follows:
 
· Do not swim in the immediate treated water for a minimum of 24 hours after the application date (see above date)
· Do not use water from the immediate treated areas for irrigation, sprays or for potable (drinking) water for a period of up to 21 days if treatment is to occur at shoreline areas
 
· There are NO RESTRICTIONS on using water from treated areas for fishing immediately following  this application
 
Treatment signs will be posted at the time of the treatment in each individual lot where the treatment is to occur near the shoreline and can be removed at the end of the next day after the treatment day.
 
Should the weather prevent this treatment from happening on the date listed above, the treatment will occur on the next business day that the weather allows.
