On Saturday, June 9, the Crystal Lake Park District will host the annual Open Water Swim Races and the 1^st ever Kid’s Sprint & Scoop.  Crystal Lake Main Beach is located at 300 Lakeshore Drive, Crystal Lake.

Saturday, June 9, 7:30 am and 7:45 am race starts

Fee: $45 Pre-Registration, $50 Race Day Registration

Races consist of 1-mile and 2-mile open water swim course on Crystal Lake. The course begins at Main Beach and follows an out and back straight line. This is a great event if you are training for a future triathlon. Wetsuits are optional. Swim caps are provided. All pre-registered participants receive a swim race giveaway item. Medals awarded for top finishers in age groups. Kid’s Sprint & Scoop (NEW for 2018)

Saturday, June 9, 10 am

Ages 6-14 years

Fee: Register for code #331403-01 by June 5, $25 per entry, register online at crystallakeparks.org

This year, the kids can join in on the fun of the Open Water Swim Race! Participants will be broken up into different age groups: 6-7, 8-9, 10-11, and 12-14 years. The race will start with a .5 mile run for kids 6-9, and a mile run for kids 10-14 in the fields by Main Beach. Participants will then take a dip in the Main Beach swimming area, before racing across the finish line for a scoop of Baskin Robbins ice cream! The swim portion of the race will take place in the Main Beach Swim Area only and guarded by Red Cross certified Lifeguards. All swimmers will receive a swim cap to wear and a special giveaway. Please include t-shirt size when registering.
