Project Update: New Park on Haligus Rd in Lakewood

We just posted an exciting project update about a new park coming to a location on Haligus Rd in Lakewood!
Future Park Site: just south of the Village of Lakewood Public Works facility on Haligus Road
Crystal Lake Park District's new park site off Haligus Road is soon to be transformed into a community park with pickleball and basketball courts, soccer fields and accessible walking paths. New playground equipment for ages 2-5 and ages 5-12 offers many play experiences along with a uniquely designed splash pad. As part of the play equipment, swings, a zip-line tetter-totter and merry go round offer additional sensory movement experiences. Casual spaces for gathering--hammocks and unique seating areas shall entice one to sit and enjoy being out of doors while garden trellis and interpretive signage within a pollinator garden will engage visitors of all ages to enjoy nature and learn about the historical context of the site.
